4 ways to get rid of dry skin

You don’t need an expert to tell you that you have dry skin. Dry skin occurs when skin doesn’t retain sufficient moisture. This can happen as a result of frequent bathing, use of harsh soap, medical conditions or  simply living in cold climates.

Here’s 4 simple steps on how to prevent dry skin:

  1. Limit yourself to 5-10 minute bath og shower daily. Staying in the shower for longer than that, may strip away the skin’s oily layer and cause it to lose moisture.
  2. Apply moisturizer immediately after bathing or washing your hands
  3. Avoid wearing wool and other fabrics that can irritate the skin
  4. Minimize your use of soaps:  Soap is harsh and drying to the skin, but if necessary choose moisturizing preparations specially formulated for dry skin or consider soap-free cleansers
